Payroll Service For Employers

If you are an Employer of staff, you have a legal responsibility to run a Payroll and to submit a Real Time Information (RTI) Return for each one of your staff to HMRC. This must be done before or on the day your staff are paid their wages. Most companies run their Payroll on either a Weekly or Monthly basis. The Payroll system provides you with weekly or monthly payslips for each of your employee(s). Each payslip shows earnings and deductions that have been calculated in accordance with the PAYE (Pay As You Earn) scheme.

If you choose to use our Payroll service, we do all the work to ensure that your Payroll is run on time, whether monthly or weekly. We also ensure that your business Payroll is run in full compliance with HMRC Payroll rules and regulations. For more information about our Payroll service, please see the Payroll Service FAQs below.

Payroll Service FAQs

Most Employers need to register for PAYE (Pay as You Earn) Scheme. Once registered, an Employer is required to run a Payroll. A Real Time Information (RTI) Return for each employee must also be submitted to HMRC before or on pay day.

You don’t have to register for PAYE when employee(s) are earning below the Lower Earnings Limit.

If your Employee(s) are earning less than the Lower Earnings Limit, which in the current tax year 2021/22 is £120, then you won’t need to register for PAYE. You will however still need to keep a Payroll record of your Employee(s) earnings for your own accounts.

Should any Employee(s) be earning less than the Lower Earnings Limit, but have a second job elsewhere, then an Employer WILL need to register for PAYE and run a Payroll.

If an Employer has several Employee(s) whereby only one is paid above the current Lower Earnings Limit, PAYE registration is required.
